Hollywood superstar actress, Meagan Good has recounted how she quit s*x because her boyfriend cheated on her. As a result, she had a transformation to remember. Revealing the details of everything that happened, Meagan shared the story with New York Post.
In 2010, Good ditched her party-girl lifestyle and became a born-again Christian, at the same time vowing to remain celibate until marriage. She was chaste for two years, until she married Seventh-day Adventist pastor DeVon Franklin — a journey they recall in their upcoming book, “The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love” (Howard Books, out Tuesday).
“I was a very destructive person and I struggled with that a lot,” Good, now 34, tells The Post of her younger days. A child actress who made her film debut in 1995’s “Friday,” she found herself rebelling. “I was always being told what to do. If I felt bad about something, I would drink. That is how I got started with smoking too.”
She had a string of romantic liaisons throughout her teens and early 20s, including Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Nick Cannon, Jamie Foxx and former Kansas City Chiefs running back Thomas Jones — but it wasn’t until one of her beaus cheated on her that Good began to consider celibacy.
“I no longer wanted to be a girlfriend, I wanted a husband,” she says.
Good, who comes from a religious family, began reading the Bible and praying at home to reconnect with God.“When God spoke to me, I just knew nothing could deter me from that path.”

Months later, Good began filming 2011’s “Jumping the Broom,” and became close to one of the Columbia Pictures studio executives: Franklin. She confessed her recent decision to him, and was surprised to learn that Franklin was 10 years into his own celibacy — and also a pastor.
“I am a very free-spirited person. I do not feel like there is anything wrong with clubbing, drinking and having a good time, but many people in the church community do not feel that that is appropriate. They tend to be very judgmental, religious and narrow-minded,” says Good.
“So if I had known that DeVon was a preacher beforehand, I would have assumed the same about him.”
After the film wrapped, the pair started dating and remained committed to refraining from sex until marriage. But that didn’t mean they were without temptation.
“There were moments where we would be alone and I thought, ‘Man, I could really [have sex] right now,’” Good recalls. “When it did get too hot and heavy, I would stop and walk away. ‘Let’s go get lunch, let’s get out of the house and do something different.’”
But Franklin’s mutual commitment helped. “I did not want to jeopardize us not having the strongest foundation possible,” the 37-year-old tells The Post.
The couple wed in 2012, and they say abstaining has helped their “love, strength and stability.”
Not that there aren’t clashes between Hollywood and church life.
When Good sported a plunging neckline to the BET Awards in 2013, she was criticized by some for showing too much skin.
“Me being married to a man of ministry, people saw me as a first lady of the church, and said I should now conduct myself in that manner,” she says. “[But] I have been acting since I was 4, so wearing sexy dresses on the red carpet is never going to change.”
