Watch Protester Throws Sex Toy at Politician, Accuses Him of 'Raping Country' (Video)

This is the moment a New Zealand politician, Steven Joyce,  was hit in the face by a sex toy thrown at him by a protester as he gave interviews to journalists.

Joyce, a member of the New Zealand National Party, was talking to journalists in Waitangi, near Paihia, when he was 'attacked' by a woman in the audience.

A video showing the moment of the attack shows, the large, pink toy comes flying across the camera screen before hitting the 52-year-old squarely in the face.

As she threw the s*x toy, the woman is heard yelling: "That's for raping our sovereignty."

She adds: "That's for raping our country, because of the TPP and selling away our rights and our freedom."

After throwing the lewd object, she was then escorted away by members of the politician's security team.

It is thought the woman was referring to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which was signed in Auckland yesterday. The agreement is one of the most ambitious free trade deals ever signed and aims to deepen economic ties between 12 countries including the US, Japan, Australia, Canada and Peru.

Speaking after the incident, Steven did not appear to be phased by the incident, telling journalists: "Fair to say, I don't think those sorts of things happen every day.

"We actually thought it was a little bit humorous at the end of it all...new experiences in politics every day, it's the privilege of serving."
