Wild fire in Western Australian Towns

Authorities have warned residents of several Western Australian towns to to evacuate unless they are ready to actively defend their homes against bushfires that continue to ravage their communities.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said the situation had escalated and the towns of Harvey, Cookernup, Wokalup and surrounding areas could be hit within hours.
People in those areas are being urged to evacuate to the south, via the South Western Highway if it is safe to do so.
Police have been door-knocking in Harvey directing people to leave.
An emergency warning also remains in place for east of Waroona, Yarloop, Hamel, the Harvey town site and surrounding areas.
A separate bushfire that was threatening lives and homes in the Dalyup area in the Shire of Esperance on WA's south coast has been downgraded to a watch and act.
The fire is still out of control and unpredictable, but favourable conditions have weakened the threat.
People in the affected area are advised the safest option may be to leave and stay with family or friends elsewhere.
