The woman dangled from the bridge wearing a pair of pants with her chest painted in the Iranian flag, in protest against President Rouhani's visit to France.
Wearing only nude-coloured pants and with her chest painted in the Iranian flag, the woman hung from the Debily Footbridge in the style of a mock exeuction, with a banner reading "Welcome Rohani, executioner of freedom" displayed above her.
Rouhani is in Paris to sign off a deal that will see Iran buy more than 100 Airbus planes from France, in a bid to revive business ties between the two countries despite diplomatic differences.
The protest was staged by international women's movement Femen, which is known for its topless protests over human rights issues .
"We organised this public display as a little reminder of the fact that every year, more than 800 people are sentenced to death in his country," Femen France's spokesperson Sarah Constantin explained.
"Among them are women, feminists, homosexuals, and free-thinkers who are rotting on death row, just because they are free-thinkers.
"And Francois Hollande doesn't take any of this into account.
"He is welcoming him at the Elysee Palace this afternoon to have a quiet cup of tea and sign a few contracts, and to sell him a few Airbuses.
"It shows that Francois Hollande doesn't care about human rights; the only thing he cares about is business."
